The Alpinestars Tech-Air® 7X System is an innovative motorcycle airbag vest, specially designed for riders seeking the highest levels of safety and comfort. This advanced system, based on MotoGP airbag technology, offers FIM-approved protection for both track use and street riding. It provides full upper body protection, including the shoulders, chest, back, and tailbone, and is suitable for use with Tech-Air®-compatible leather jackets or suits, or as a standalone solution.
Equipped with twelve integrated sensors, including triaxial accelerometers and gyroscopes, the system continuously monitors the rider's movements. In the event of an accident, the intelligent algorithm detects a crash situation and activates the airbag in just 44 milliseconds. This results in an impact reduction of up to 90% compared to standard CE-Level 1 protection, making it a reliable partner in challenging situations.
The Tech-Air® 7X offers two modes of operation – RACE and STREET – which can be easily selected via the accompanying Tech-Air® App. Thanks to the built-in battery, you can enjoy up to 20 hours of active riding time. Charging is simple and efficient; a full charge takes only four hours, while a short one-hour charging session is sufficient for 7 to 8 hours of riding pleasure. The USB-C charging port is strategically placed for added convenience.
Comfort and ventilation are central to the design. The vest is equipped with extensive perforations for optimal airflow and stretch panels for a snug fit. Additionally, the inner layer of the vest can be hand washed after removing the electronic components. An integrated LED display on the front flap provides clear information about the battery status and the number of available airbag activations.
With dual gas cartridges, the system offers the possibility of two separate airbag activations, which not only ensures extra safety but also enhances durability and ease of use. When new crash detection algorithms become available, they can be easily downloaded via the Bluetooth connectivity of the Tech-Air® App, ensuring your system is always up-to-date.

- Two Riding Modes: The Tech-Air® 7x System is equipped with RACE and STREET riding modes, featuring specific AI crash detection algorithms that can be easily selected via the Tech-Air® App.
- Jacket Compatibility: Designed to be worn under any Alpinestars Tech-Air® Ready or Tech-Air® Compatible leather suit or jacket, or under a third-party leather suit with 4 cm of space around the rider’s chest circumference. Additional space is necessary to accommodate the airbag inflation during deployment. The leather suit should not be too tight in the crotch area to prevent discomfort during activation.
- Quick Attachment: Engineered for quick and easy attachment to Tech-Air® Compatible race suits or jackets, enhancing practicality and comfort.
- Converter Kit: Equipped with a converter kit, allowing it to also be worn as a standalone Airbag System for real-world versatility.
- Dual Charge Capability: With two full gas inflators, the system provides two separate Airbag deployments. During a crash scenario, only one gas inflator is used to deploy the entire Airbag System.
- Quick-Release Cover Opening: Enables rapid replacement of the gas inflator by users, available only in countries where individual replacement is permitted by local regulations.
- Integrated Battery: Utilizes a certified lithium-ion battery with a fully charged battery life of approximately 20 hours of active riding and a recharge time of about 4 hours. A charging session of approximately 1 hour provides around 7 to 8 hours of riding time.
- Ease of Use: To activate the system, simply close the Front Flap and ensure the hook and loop patches are properly attached. An internal magnetic switch detects the closed flap and automatically turns on and activates the Airbag System. To deactivate the Airbag, open the Front Flap and the system automatically turns off.
- Maintenance: The base layer of the system can be hand washed separately after removing the non-washable parts, including the Airbag, Gas Inflators, and all electronic components, such as the LED display and wiring.
- FIM Grand Prix Compatibility: The Tech-Air® 7x System meets all FIM Grand Prix requirements for Airbag Systems, making it suitable for road racing competitions.
- Advanced Technology: Features the latest evolution of Alpinestars Tech-Air® technology, including a more compact and complete active electronic system equipped with 12 sensors.
- Sensors: Includes 4 tri-axial sensors (1 tri-axial accelerometer and 1 tri-axial gyroscope located on the main electronic control unit) and 2 additional tri-axial accelerometers on the shoulders, specifically developed for track and performance riding.
