More ventilation – Neotec 2
The ventilation has been completely redesigned for the new Neotec 2. The chin bar presents an air intake we have never seen before. The wide opening lets a lot of air in and it is very easy to control with a button on the inside. It has been shaped in such a way that it will not disturb the helmet?s aerodynamics.
The top and rear ventilation also have large airways which offer a comfortable airflow, and a welcome exhaust outlet for the warm air. Two spoilers on the helmet improve the aerodynamics.
Improved aerodynamics – Neotec 2
Not only the 3-step spoiler improves the aerodynamics, the new top spoiler also provided the helmet with improved stability. This spoiler reminds us a little of the spoiler featured on the Shoei GT-Air full face helmet. The underside of the helmet also features a new spoiler, or rather a ?diffuser? as Shoei call it. This ?diffuser? doesn?t only stabilise the helmet, it ensures that the vacuum (created at the rear of the helmet) doesn?t backfire against the helmet. This reduces a lot of wind noise, and by doing so it compliments the noise resistance of the helmet.
Silence is bliss – this helmet is even quieter
Speaking of noise resistance.. Apart from the fact that you can hardly find any gaps in the helmet whatsoever, the underside of the helmet has been made as compact as possible. This ensures that the helmet barely lets in any wind, which vastly improves how quiet the helmet remains. The leather chin curtain has also been lengthened. The visor seal is extra wide and it directly connects to the chin curtain, basically sealing the underside of the helmet around your neck. To top it off, Shoei has developed noise reducing earpads ? to offer you the sound of silence.
Communication by Sena – ultra small
They have developed a completely new communication system in cooperation with Sena especially for the Shoei Neotec 2. A small module is placed on the side which does not alter the wearing comfort of the helmet at all. The rear of the helmet offers space for the battery. The microphone and speakers still need to be installed.
Visor – bigger and stronger
The patented Shoei CNS-3 visor is another beautiful feature of the new Neotec 2. Very large, very clear and of exceptional quality. The visor has rounded edges which remind us a little of the modern day ?curved? mobile phone screens. When opening the helmet the chin bar moves forward a little, the same happens when you lock the chin back upwards into its top position. This ensures that the visor sucks itself against the rubber and is completely integrated into the helmet. This innovative system has been patented by Shoei and they are the only ones who are allowed to use it. The anti-fog Pinlock EVO lens comes with the helmet and the Shoei Neotec 2 also features an integrated sun visor. The beauty of this sun visor is that it slides over the top of the outer shell and doesn?t interrupt the structure.
Materials – only the best will do
Let?s talk about the materials, something that we must not overlook. Shoei does not cut corners when it comes to building helmets. The outer shell is made from multi-fibre (A.I.M.), as we?ve seen from Shoei before. The outer shell is available in three different sizes, always ensuring the best possible fit. The outer shell is fully produced by hand, just like the rest of the helmet. The inner shell has a double density, which reduces movement during an impact.
The interior is very comfortable, 3D pre-shaped and it?s available in different sizes - so you can always adjust it to your facial shape. The inner lining is fully removable and washable, you can even put it in the washing machine. We can quickly see that the interior has a nice finish, giving the helmet a luxurious appearance.

Last but not least, the price of the Shoei Neotec 2. The new flip up helmet will be available in eight different colours. The glossy white and glossy black variants will cost ?599,- euros. The other colours come in at ?629,- and the designs will cost ?699,-.
