Schuberth C4 Review

This is the new Schuberth C4. The Schuberth C4 is one of the most anticipated flip up helmets ever. Let’s jump right in.

Schuberth C4 review

Schuberth C4 specifications

What have they been able to improve upon when the predecessor was already so complete? Schuberth has designed the new C4 with the renowned Austrian design studio KISKA. The helmet manufacturer claims to have improved the soundproofing and aerodynamics, which are now suitable for naked bikes.

The outer shell consists of a fibreglass matrix, which provides you with a light and well protecting helmet. Partly due to this renewed outer shell the weight is around 1470 grams, which is very pleasant on longer rides ? especially in combination with the improved air resistance.

The seamless interior provides you with inner comfort, and the optimised airflow keeps your head cool. The adjustable padding that the C4 features is also a completely new improvement. By simply shifting this padding, you can turn a comfortable helmet into a custom made dream helmet. Even shifting the padding by a centimetre can make a difference.

The sun visor is another nifty little feature, this visor can be locked into different positions. You can adjust it in height to improve your riding comfort. It?s the little things that count!

Renewed communication system Schuberth SC1

Another feature is the optional Bluetooth communication system for the Schuberth C4. The previous SRC systems were made by Cardo, but now Schuberth has chosen the other A-brand in the industry to create these SC1 systems: SENA. The system is equipped with Bluetooth 4.1 communication, intercom, FM radio (SC1 Advanced only), Bike 2 Passenger and Bike 2 Bike communication. The ideal thing about the new SC1 system is that you simply slide the battery and main console into the two slots on the underside of the helmet. The speakers and microphone are both already seamlessly integrated into the helmet. Installing the communication system does not alter the inner shape of the helmet, this was often the case with previous models.

The SC1 system is available in a standard and advanced version. The largest difference between both systems is the reach of the intercom, FM radio and the battery life.
